What do you wish you had known before you arrived at University?

I wish that I had known that everyone is just as homesick and nervous as you are, it is ok to go off, call your family and relax by yourself for a bit; you’ll have friends tomorrow and there is plenty of time to make more. Nothing is more important than yourself!!

What has been the most useful piece of advice you have been given?

Pace yourself and what is the worst that can happen? – just go for it!

How have you made friends?

I’ve made a lot of my friends at staircase parties, the college ENT, (I had to ask Megan what ENT stood for - they are parties organised by St John's)  the buttery and my lectures.

What lifeskills would it have been useful to have?

Learning how to set up my bank account, laundry, general finance and budgeting, and a bit more academic independence.

How often have you been home since you started?

I haven’t been yet as Cambridge freshers only started on October 4.
