Welcoming our alumnae back to Surbiton High School!

We are always delighted to welcome alumnae back to Surbiton High School and last week was no exception when we had four visitors.

Daisy (2018) was our first visitor, and she is currently in her final year at Manchester University studying Maths.  She came back to observe various Maths teachers in their lessons as she is considering teaching as a possible career; we were, of course, keen to help.  Our thanks go to Mrs Asare for organising the day.

Hope (2021) who is currently in her first year at Manchester University studying Drama then returned and shared her top tips on life at university.  She recommends throwing yourself into as many clubs to meet as many people as possible, and to ensure you keep up with your workload so that it does not become too daunting. We think that is great advice. Having been a part of the rowing team at School, she is now a cox at university and is hoping to become Club Captain.  Hope is really looking forward to coming back to School again in November to see the school musical, ‘Legally Blonde’. Hope is enrolled in our University Buddy Scheme, whereby a current alumna at university is available to help and offer advice to incoming Surbiton High School pupils. If you would like to be a part of this scheme, please do get in touch.

Finally, we welcomed Hyeji (2013) who went to Oxford University and is now teaching Maths at Highgate School, and Heiwon (2013) who, after spending a couple of years abroad, is now in her final year at the University of Arts in London and is looking at a career in Graphic Communications. Both Hyeji and Heiwon were delighted to have the opportunity to catch up with members of staff, and thoroughly enjoyed their tour of the School to see the many changes that had taken place since they left.

We love keeping in touch with our alumnae and are always happy to show them our wonderful School.
