Confident, charismatic, and ambitious describe our own former pupil, Kitty Castledine (2020).  As a Drama Scholar at Surbiton, she balanced drama and academics with sports as a keen swimmer, and wheelchair basketball and tennis player.  After completing her A-levels, Kitty went on to obtain her BA at LAMDA where she completed a tough three year programme.  Landing the role of Penny Branning on EastEnders straight out of LAMDA was a dream come true and she has been part of the EastEnders family since January 2024.  She relishes continuously learning from the multitude of directors and writers on set.

As a wheelchair user, Kitty is passionate to show more disabled characters on screen, but not to solely focus on the disability.  Paralysed at the age of 7 from transverse myelitis, Kitty just gets on with her very full life and doesn't feel that she is having to cope.   Kitty has also starred in "The Break" and "Grace". She is also keen to work across different genre such as period drama and Shakespeare and to write her own works in the future.

Kitty, we can't wait to see what you do next!
